Social media and I have arrived at a mutually acceptable compromise. There's no Facebook page, YouTube channel, or carefully curated online presence (other than this website). Instagram sees occasional small bursts of activity from me, and I maintain a LinkedIn profile (please click on the links provided). Most of my time is spent playing bass, teaching and composing music, preparing for gigs, and keeping a small but persistent pile of concert shirts ironed. Any remaining time is spent with my wife and daughter, doing up our characterful old bungalow or having the odd game of chess.

The first photo at the beginning of my lifelong musical journey.

I will be forever grateful to my wonderful double bass teacher Barry Glynn; to Springdale First School, especially my music teacher Mrs Gerring and the late Headmistress Mrs Wadham; and above all to my mum and my late father, whose love, support and belief made this journey possible.

Looking closely at this photo, my bow is tucked through the bridge and I’m positioned for pizzicato, perhaps an early sign of the bassist I would become?

Personal information is stored securely using password-protected digital systems.

Access is restricted to Greg Mudd. Appropriate technical and organisational measures are in place to protect personal information against unauthorised or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction or damage.

Data Retention

Student and client records are normally retained for up to seven years after the last communication. After this period, personal information is securely and permanently deleted unless there is a legal reason requiring a longer retention period.

Live Streaming and Lesson Recordings

Where requested in advance, private live streaming or recording of lessons (or part thereof) may be arranged. Recordings are not created, stored or managed by Greg Mudd or gregmudd.co.uk. Any recordings are made using the student’s or parent's own device and remain entirely under their control. Greg Mudd does not have access to or retain copies of these recordings.

Third-Party Services

This website uses trusted third-party services including Google Analytics and Google Workspace where applicable. These providers process information in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable data protection legislation.

Your Rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
